President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was presented with a report on the first results of the National Population Census, which has been conducted from September 1 to October 30, 2021.
As the Prime Minister reported, the total number of Kazakhstan’s population according to the results of the census amounted 19,169,550 people, of which 48.71% are men, 51.29% women.
The median age of the population is 31.94 years. 33.97% are children under the age of 17, while 19.72% are young people aged 14-28 years. The share of Kazakhs in the ethnic diversity reached 70.18%.
The number of working-age population amounted to 11,320,410 people, or 59.05% of the country’s population.
