Silk Way is Kazakhstan’s first international satellite TV channel.
It broadcasts 24/7 in Kazakh, English, Russian, Kyrgyz, Uzbek, and Turkish, with selectable audio tracks, across 118 countries.
The channel’s mission is to effectively shape and manage information flows about Central Asia at both the regional and international levels.
Silk Way began broadcasting on October 25, 2002.
Silk Way Cinema - an international thematic film channel.
It broadcasts 24/7 in Kazakh and Russian, with selectable audio tracks, across the CIS.
Programming includes feature and documentary films, festival and auteur cinema, works by young directors, short films, as well as niche TV projects covering events and activities in the film industry. The channel’s content is domestically produced.
Silk Way Cinema began broadcasting on October 25, 2023.
Silk Way Prime - the international version of Jibek Joly.
It broadcasts 24/7 in Kazakh and Russian across the CIS.
Programming includes feature films, news and analytical shows, talk shows, reality projects, and entertainment programs. The channel’s content is domestically produced.

Yerkezhan Kuntugan is a graduate of the Pavlodar State Pedagogical University named after A. Margulan, the Faculty of Philology.
In 2011, Yerkezhan Kuntugan held the position of the head of the Educational Television Center in Pavlodar. She worked as a producer for the Directorate of Information and Analytical Programs at Channel One Eurasia and as the Deputy General Producer of the Atameken Business Channel.
In 2020-2021, she worked as Editor-in-Chief of the Kazakh service and Creative Producer at Channel One Eurasia.
Prior to her appointment as the Director of the Jibek Joly TV Channel, Yerkezhan Kuntugan held the position of the Creative Director at the TV and Radio Complex of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

September 1, 2012 – The TV Channel is rebranded as Qazaq TV.
October 25, 2012 – On the 10th anniversary the TV Channel starts programming from the new Kazmedia Ortalygy in Astana in the HDTV, 16:9[1] format.
November 16, 2017 – Qazaq TV Channel switches to multi-language broadcasting with audio tracks in Kazakh, Russian and English.
May 1, 2018 – It starts broadcasting in Kyrgyz.
November 28, 2018 – The TV Channel offers content in Uzbek.
April 1, 2022 – The TV Channel joins the NJSC Television and Radio Complex of the President of Kazakhstan.
September 1, 2022 at 00:00 – Qazaq TV has rebranded revealing its new name as Jibek Joly (nationwide) and Silk Way (for international broadcasting).

Sandugash Rakhimzhanova is named as the head of Qazaq TV Channel in 2018.
In 2019 Maya Bekbayeva is nominated to head the TV Channel.
In 2022 Yerkezhan Kuntugan is designated to the post of the head of the Presidential TV Channel.
September 1, 2023 – The TV Channel joins the RSE on the REM “TV and Radio Complex of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan”.
