President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with the Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Japan and Member of the House of Representatives, Akihisa Nagashima.
– Kazakhstan attaches great importance to the development of strategic partnership with Japan. Our countries have established close relations based on friendship and mutual understanding. As we say: ''Kazakhstan and Japan are distant neighbors but close friends'', – said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The President of Kazakhstan highlighted the significant potential for expanding trade, economic, investment, and scientific-technical cooperation between the two countries. According to him, Japanese investments in Kazakhstan’s economy have exceeded $8 billion. Kazakhstan remains committed to providing favorable conditions for foreign investors, including leading Japanese companies.
In response, Akihisa Nagashima conveyed warm greetings from Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba and reaffirmed Tokyo’s strong commitment to further strengthening the multifaceted Kazakh-Japanese relationship.
The two sides emphasized the importance of enhancing high-level political dialogue and discussed prospects for deepening bilateral cooperation in areas such as trade, energy, transportation, education, climate issues, and cultural-humanitarian collaboration.
