On the sidelines of the 56th Munich Security Conference Kassym-Jomart Tokayev began his series of bilateral talk with the meeting Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
The two sides discussed the current state and prospects of the Kazakh-Canadian cooperation in trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian areaa. They also touched upon the interaction within international organizations, and exchanged views on pressing issues of the international agenda.
Welcoming Justin Trudeau, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted the importance of further development of bilateral relations in the fields of economy, attracting investment, agriculture and technology.
"We have close relations with Canada. We highly appreciate the current level of our cooperation. I hope for further expansion of interaction between our countries”, the President of Kazakhstan said.
Having positively assessed the activities of the Canadian "Cameco" uranium company in Kazakhstan, the Head of State reaffirmed his readiness to continue providing all necessary conditions for the Canadian companies in our company.
Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to meet, Justin Trudeau noted the long-standing friendship and partnership between the two states.
"Our countries have a lot in common in economic cooperation. We are successfully cooperating on a number of energy projects. I hope for further strengthening of our cooperation", the Prime Minister of Canada said.
The Prime Minister of Canada highly appreciated Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's efforts in implementing political and economic reforms and expressed readiness to support the development of civil society and democracy.
Following the meeting, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Justin Trudeau invited each other to make mutual visits.
