
During the discussion, current issues of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the United Nations were addressed.
The Kazakh President highlighted the significance of the UN General Assembly resolution on establishing a Regional Center for the SDGs in Almaty for Central Asia and Afghanistan. They also discussed further steps toward the institutionalization of the Regional Center.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that in the UN’s 80th anniversary year, all nations must unite to uphold the UN Charter and the principles of international law, as the organization remains a universal and irreplaceable pillar of global governance.
In turn, the Secretary-General commended Kazakhstan's peacekeeping efforts and its contributions to strengthening global security and sustainable development.
